Mariú Lacayo was a pioneer Image Consultant and Fashion Design Curator by becoming the first specialized professional in those fields in Central America. With over sixteen years of experience in the world of fashion, makeup, and design, she is certified by IDIP Mexico, Color me Beautiful London, AICI, and Anastassia Sfeir.

Her extensive experience includes hundreds of editorial productions for media outlets, production and direction of runways and fashion events, styling, creative direction, writing for beauty and fashion columns. She has helped over 350 brides on their special day as their makeup artist and dresser, led numerous makeup tutorials and conventions, and participated in several fashion platforms as head Stylist and Makeup director.

Additionally, Mariu has been an International Speaker at numerous conferences, collaborated as a juror for beauty pageants, worked as a TV host and personality, and has advised over three hundred emerging Latin American talents and brands. She is a former Director of Admissions for Central America and the Caribbean at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and co-founder of www.iladi.org

Mariú Lacayo graduated from FIU in 2006 with a BS in Hospitality Management and a minor in F&B Administration. She worked eight years in the hospitality industry in Miami, FL and then moved back to her home country where she started in 2008 the first Luxury Fashion Boutique in Nicaragua with more than 200 global brands. 

Mariú Lacayo has coached our current Miss Universe 2023, Sheynnis Palacios, Project Runway winner Shantall Lacayo, politicians, entrepreneurs, Corporate CEOs, artists, designers, musicians, TV personalities, and individuals. She has trained more than 500 individuals in appearance, verbal and nonverbal communications and executive protocol.
