Hello! My name is Cat Johnston-Floyd and I am a watercolor artist! Though I was born and raised in South Florida, I have been living and working in Savannah, Georgia since 2010. I attended Savannah College of Art & Design from 2010 - 2014, graduating with a B.F.A. in Illustration. I started my art career in book illustration, and my work has been published in multiple children’s and text books. Currently I specialize in fine art paintings and prints. In my artwork I love to combine delicate line work with watercolor texture to create an ethereal, dreamlike feeling. Though writing poetry is not a strength of mine, I am heavily inspired by poems and consider myself a visual poet. I am fascinated with the surrealist art movement and love the way images can be visual metaphors. In my paintings I enjoy exploring the unexpected and illustrating concepts that evoke emotion in the viewers. I love creating art that celebrates life, and having the opportunity to capture sentimental experiences on paper.
