Meet: erinn & Sam from hawkins-house savannah

Connecticut-based founders Erinn and Sam Spinowitz are the creative force behind Hawkins House Savannah, a design-led curated retreat tucked just off iconic Jones Street.

After a nor’easter rerouted them from Charleston to Savannah in 2018, they fell for the city’s charm and never quite left. They spent years searching for the right historic property. In 2023, they found it. Long overlooked, Hawkins House was thoughtfully restored and reimagined as a layered, experience-driven stay centered around connection, design, and gathering well.

As parents of three young children (and three opinionated Pomeranians), they were perpetually perplexed by the hotel dilemma: book multiple rooms at a premium, or sacrifice aesthetics for space. Hawkins House was born from that gap - a place where families or groups of friends could gather beautifully, without compromise.

Erinn, originally from Nebraska, quickly migrated to New York City following college. Beginning her career at Glamour Magazine before transitioning into scouting talent for leading modeling agencies and global campaigns - including Google and Coca-Cola. Sam an ENT surgeon by day, brings surgical precision and a deep attention to detail. Together, these disciplines shaped their instinct for marketing through storytelling, brand psychology and thoughtful execution.

The Hawkins House vision was shaped alongside an exceptional creative community: branding expert TJ Deaver (@tjdvr); property photo extraordinaire Andrew Frazier (@andrew.frazier09), Chaz Fraser of Stay at Arise (@stayatarise), who oversees day-to-day hosting with elevated care; and emerging content creatives Gabi Jones (@gabrinjones), Ellie Pace (@casaelbow), and Aleksa Bazylevsky (@aleksabazy), whose work captures the playful spirit and layered beauty of the property.

Looking ahead, 2027 marks a new chapter for Hawkins House Savannah: a reimagined master bath, refreshed kitchen, curated coffee bar, and an entirely new dining experience designed for unforgettable gatherings. The updates are intended to inspire elevated moments - from private chef dinners to bespoke cocktail evenings. The year will also introduce Stay Hawkins, a direct-booking platform, alongside Hawkins House Wilton—a thoughtfully designed escape for young families in historic Fairfield County, Connecticut. Because you should be able to Stay Hawkins in more than one zip code.
